ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Anthony
WHERE I COME FROM
My name is Anthony L. Alexander and I’m running for Congress. After I mentioned it to my family and friends they said, “why run especially after you had a heart attack!’ But more on that later.

An active member of the community, I was born in Cleveland, Ohio. I have been in Berea since 2009. Since 2011 my family attend Grace Church in Middleburg Heights. I have taught kids and adults classes. The one class, “Lay It Down”, that I teach at least once a year; is about “what would you do if the worst thing in your life happened to you; would you give up or lay it down and give it to God.”
In my spare time I also give back to the community. I volunteer for and am a board member of the Berea Planning Commission and is on the Berea Tax Incentive Review Council. “People don’t realize how important these positions are for any city as far as sustaining and the growth of a city. To be recommended to be on these boards are an honor I can’t describe”.
A THRIVING CAREER
For the past 15 years I've worked in the MRDD (Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities) field as a Site Supervisor helping people with mental and physical disabilities.

I've also worked had over 20 years in Multi-media. From hosting radio shows, tv shows, managing community papers; to currently doing podcasts and Facebook live shows. I love getting information out that people can use. I'm old school journalism. It’s not from the left side; nor the right side. It’s just the facts.
MISSION STATEMENT
BRINGING "SERVANT" BACK INTO PUBLIC SERVANT
From Covid, Senior Citizens, Education, Wages, Health Care, Constitutional Rights, National Security; to many other issues. If it matters to you then it matters to me.
Why did he decide to run for Congress? It’s simple he says. “As a Public Servant all politicians should have the traits to listen, and have empathy; to building the community; and to what’s in the best interests for the people that voted you in. I found out they weren’t and that’s why I’m running.”

“There are many reasons to want to be a Congress Person. You would either want it to boost your resume, get a certain acclaim, or make a difference in your community. Again, I’ve proven that you don’t need to have a title or a lot of money to make a difference in your community; but it does help.

“Being a single parent, I’ve seen the opportunities and hardships that effect everyday families. From housing, to education, from living paycheck to paycheck. I’ve lived and am still living like most families. Throughout the years I’ve asked and gotten help from the community. I appreciate that people were committed to helping me and my family.”
“Now let’s go back where we started. I had a heart attack a few years ago. Right while I was running for office. I sat back after that and had to reevaluate everything. I did and found out that life is short. What is your purpose in life? Mine was raising my children and giving back to the community that helped me. And here I am trying to give back some more.”
